Cooling high performance computer systems
A cooling arrangement for dense computer chassis that uses separate front and rear upward air flows and a pressurized plenum. Louvers close over a failed fan so the remaining fans keep the modules cooled.
High performance memory based communications interface
An interface between a computer's memory and a network. It describes each packet as a set of physical-memory fragments so that hardware can assemble and send it quickly, with support for priorities.
Recovery from control plane failures in the LDP signalling protocol
A method for restoring a network node after a control plane failure. The node recovers its record of free connections first, so it can resume service quickly, and restores the remaining detail in the background.
Transmission of digital audio data
Delivery of long audio, such as audiobooks, by splitting it at natural pauses into small files that download and play seamlessly. Bookmarks can be moved between devices.
Multi-carrier amplifier linearization system and method
A method for reducing distortion in amplifiers that carry several signals at once. It measures the amplifier output, estimates distortion from the eigenvalues of a correlation matrix, and adjusts the input signal to improve the result.
Hybrid domain block equalizer
An equalizer for broadcast signals, such as digital television, that suffer from long multipath echoes. It combines frequency-domain equalization with time-domain echo cancellation, applied iteratively.
Estimation of image relations from point correspondences between images
A method for determining how two images of the same scene relate to each other. It uses weighted random sampling that learns which matched points are reliable.
Excimer laser with gas purification
An excimer laser that reclaims its costly noble gases and removes impurities using a multi-stage purifier and a single premixed gas supply, which reduces operating cost.
Use and provision of an amorphous vinyl alcohol polymer for forming a structure
A water-soluble support material for extrusion-based 3D printing. Supports dissolve in water once the part is complete, and the material is blended with elastomer particles for toughness and layer bonding.
Benchtop end mill grinding center
A shop-floor machine for sharpening and reshaping end mills and other rotating cutting tools, with multi-axis positioning of both the tool and the grinding wheel.
Automatic door with emergency rescue system
A power-operated door for hospital and care-home washrooms. A retractable door stop and sensors let the door swing outward in an emergency, so rescuers can reach a person who has fallen against it.
Rotating antenna steering mount
A mount that allows an antenna to be rotated and steered.
